*****Currently, this journal/blog is only documenting activities for Uriel Fury and not the community as a whole. All posts & pages will reflect that until a later date, which is to be announced.*****
Independent Community Freeschool (ICFS) was established in 2005 by, Michele James-Parham. The idea was to bring together a community of Life Learners of all ages to regularly hang out with and support one another. Shared activities, meals & skills are at the heart of the community.
Community members come from all different backgrounds, but share Life Learning in common. Youth members range in age from infant to 17 years old and Elder members range in age from 18 years old to their early 50s.
ICFS does not have a brick and mortar location, instead we gather in member homes, parks, libraries, coffeeshops, hiking/foraging trails, museums, restaurants, flea markets, craft stores & outdoor events (concerts, movies at the park, festivals, parades, etc).
All activities are open to all members at all times -- the young help the old and the old help the young. Participation and attendance are never mandatory or forced onto anyone -- to each his own, for each understands herself best.
